About Me
Kia Ora whanau, My name is Apirana "Jo" Waititi. I am a woodworker based in the mighty Waikato, in Aotearoa.
I am of Māori, Samoan descent, with a garnish of Chinese.
Ko te whānau ā Apanui te iwi
I have been woodworking since I was 14 which led me to pursue a qualification in Joinery, I have worked as a Joiner for 6 years. When I turned 21, I received my first ever Taonga, it was a Pounamu Mere. This ignited a spark and a discovery for something I now love, creating Taonga.
Most of my work is Contemporary Maori Art, inspired by people I've met, places I've been and stories I've been told. If you're after something made with passion, thought, and craftsmanship, please get in touch, otherwise , my art is free for you to enjoy here on this website.
