Are you after something personalized?

Before I start designing, please answer a few short questions so I can understand the story and meaning behind the piece you want. That helps me create something that truly represents you (or the person it’s for).

Here’s how the process works:

1. Story & Discovery

You answer a few questions about background, meaning, and symbolism.

2. Design Concept

I create a custom design concept based on what you share and send it through to you.

We can refine it together until it feels right.

3. Payment

I require a 50% deposit of the agreed upon price before I start any physical work. The final payment is required before I ship the piece off to you.

4. Creation

I then carve and finish the Taonga. I’ll send progress updates along the way.

5. Completion

Once finished, I’ll send final photos and arrange shipping.

Nz - $20

Aus - $60

Each Taonga is made with intention and respect, so I don’t rush them but I’ll always communicate timelines clearly.

Here is a list of questions that will help me in the design process to fully represent you(or the person it’s for). You can keep answers short or blank if not required.

Please note all my designs are contemporary but cultural elements are always approached with respect and artistic representation.

Taonga/Treasure questions.

1. Is this Taonga for you or someone else?

If someone else, what’s your relationship to them?

2. What is your (or their) cultural background/whakapapa?

( Tell me about your culture, where you are from)

3. What item/carving are you wanting made?

(Patu, Taiaha, custom wood carving, etc)

4. What is the purpose of this Taonga?

(display, memorial, protection, celebration, milestone, gift, etc.)

5. Are there any symbols or elements that resonate with you?

(Moana/Sea, Kararehe/Animals, Whetu/Stars etc.)
