Kaha I Maha
"Strength in many"
is a contemporary patu made from plywood and features a Wheku engraved on The front.
The Wheku represents someone who is not alone , but upheld by many layers beneath it, it symbolises a person whose strength has been formed through the presence of others, ancestors, whanau, friends and community.
Plywood is made from many thin, brittle layers of wood but when laminated all together they form something that is stronger than a solid piece of wood. Just like how each layer supports the next, we are made strong by the people who support us.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
This taonga has been handcrafted from natural timber. Like all living materials, wood responds to its environment and may subtly change over time.
To keep your taonga looking its best:
- Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight.
- Avoid exposure to excessive moisture, heat, or rapid temperature changes.
- Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth.
Small marks, colour changes, and the development of character over time are part of the natural journey of the wood and add to the unique story of your taonga.
Treat it with care, and it will continue to carry its story for generations to come
